Why is it that the moment celebrities get bored they decide to open restaurants? The latest gossip hints of a collaboration between Eva Longoria and Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham. Well OK the portion control will be excellent; one lettuce leaf will cover a table of eight. Served with a dressing of air on the side……..

Will Farrell turned down $29,000 to do Elf 2 because he didn't want to risk making a bad film. So he made Semi-Pro and Step Brothers……………. For the artistic integrity I am sure.

Speaking of films: Donkey's years ago we took the kids to see Star Trek - The Motion Picture where a young officer falls in love with a bald Persis Khambatta and right at the end of the movie the crew from bridge land on a planet, which, if I remember right was also the bald girl. I kind of lost the plot at that bit.

Aside, as my friends and family will tell you losing the plot is quite normal for me, on or off screen. But I digress……..

Anyway, they land and the young man walks towards Persis and as they embrace everything goes nuts. Fireworks, exploding stars, the sound track ramped up to deafening. There was thunder, music, bangs and whistles. Just then an amusing thought occurred to me. Well, I thought it was amusing……… So I leaned over to my husband and said

'It ne....... (drowned out by sound track).'
'What?'
'It ne....... (drowned out by sound track).'
'Say again, I can't hear you.'
I bellowed 'IT NEVER HAPPENS FOR ME LIKE THAT!'
Of course as the words left my mouth the soundtrack went silent. Not however, the audience. A little ruffle of chuckles hit us from left, right and centre. I swear there was actually an echo of my words ringing off the walls of the theatre.

We left before the lights came back up. :o)
