There are no Background Check documents issued by the police in Bulgaria.You need to go to the regional court and ask for A CERTIFICATE SHOWING NO PREVIOUS CONVICTION. You have to show yourpassport (not the international one), your birth certificate (original and a photocopy) and will be aksed to pay about $1 USD. That's it. You'll have to wait about a month if there is not a big crowd there. The certificate is valid for 6 months. After that you'll need a new one. This document is accepted by the Canadian immigration authorities.
